My journey to fitness...
We are all one phone call away from tragedy or life changing news, and at age 41 I got that call that changed my life. I was told my mom had stage four cancer, and it was very aggressive. Mom urged me to get checked out, and it turned out that genetically I have a 1 in 4 chance of getting cancer. Yikes, well I decided I wasn’t going to wait around for it or encourage it with bad eating habits. So I took charge of my life, bought an elliptical & started working out at home. I began researching how to eat healthier and slowly as I gained my confidence I joined a local gym. My husband and I started this together and we both lost 35 pounds. READ MY STORY in DFYNE MAGAZINE.
Four years later and I have achieved many of my goals, one step at a time, & in some ways I have exceeded what even I thought I could do! In 2017 I was awarded IFBB Pro status at a National Competition. I'll never forget that day and I know mom was looking down on me and smiling, it was a dream come true.
Now I enjoy helping others reach their goals, there is no better feeling to me than getting a phone call from a client in tears saying she lost another pound and can now fit into her favorite little black dress. It’s very rewarding, and I love starting people of all ages on their personal fitness journey, for a step towards living their best possible life.
